Technology

Expect the unexpected. The pace with which the tech world is currently evolving, it seems we’ll be covering a century worth of advancement in 2020 only.

Watching the basic and bulky cell phones transform into slim, sleek, lightweight smartphones, I wonder where exactly the tech-world is advancing? What will be the ultra-supreme mobile technology that’s just the end, the limit? Or will there ever be an end?

Nobody can yet say much. Or more accurately, nobody can yet say much for sure. But there are certainly a bunch of intriguing and alarming rumors out there. Some, a result of wild imaginations while some, being only a rational modification of the present mobile technology. Curves and ultra-slim design are bound to become history in 2020. The future belongs to bendable, foldable, stretchable, shrinkable, or phones that you can crunch and crumble. Maybe, we’ll even see a super-flexible wrist watch cum smartphone that flattens up or wraps around the wrist with a slight jerk. Or what if our normal screens can stretch up into a tablet when we want to watch a movie and shrink to the size of a digital camera when we want to take pictures? Perhaps, some exciting smartphone structure surprises await us in 2020, and we’re eager to explore!

Enhanced Biometric Sensors

The world’s envisioning mobile technology in 2020 through a very creative artist’s eyes. From your eye, and phone’s eye, we’re visualizing the strong sensational connection becoming common. The biometric sensing in phones is now going to be able to detect and confirm through the unique pattern of your iris too. Compact iris scanners will consume less energy and will enable speedy locking and unlocking.
The authorized person can use this technology to make his/her device safer by setting convenient iris passwords for unlocking apps and the device. We expect to see iris, voice, and more of such advanced biometric and 3D facial sensors and as an integral part of smartphones.

Even more, fingerprint scanners are going to hop into the screen for a cleaner look and safer operation. Some companies like Vivo have already introduced the in-display fingerprint scanner. Other companies are expected to follow in the coming year. Also, the IoT mobile applications may have an increased ability to gather more of your healthcare data using these enhanced biometric sensors only. They may even make medical diagnoses! The IoT apps will have the ability to connect smart devices and allow the user to manage them via a smartphone.

Increased Megapixels

The year 2019 has brought us, smartphone models, compromising of several cameras. While the Apple iPhone 11 gave us three cameras, the Oppo A5 2020 gave us five separate cameras in a single phone. The progress in other smartphone specifications has led to many people demanding a better design and display. The design has evolved from thick and compact cell phones to thin and slim smartphones. However, the display has transitioned gradually with time. The first notch displays replaced the basic smartphone’s screen in 2017. In case you are wondering what a notch display is, it is the maximization of the screen size, without the removal of camera or sensors.
